EmberFrost achievements: all 10 and how to earn them
EmberFrost achievements guide: all 10 Game Center achievements, how to earn each one, their points, which are free, and how offline syncing works.

EmberFrost has ten achievements, all on Game Center. Nine are listed from the start and one is a secret. Most arrive naturally as you rebuild the village. Master Smith and Full House ask you to finish the forge and fill every cabin, and Forged in Frost asks you to finish the story on Hard.
This guide lists every achievement in EmberFrost by its official name and in-game line, with its Game Center points, what the free part allows and how syncing works. There are no ending spoilers, and the secret stays a secret.
How many achievements does EmberFrost have?
EmberFrost: Survival Tycoon has ten achievements. They arrived in version 1.0.1, whose App Store release notes say: "Game Center is here: ten achievements to earn across Tamarisk, one of them a secret, and a leaderboard for the fastest run." Nine of them are visible from the start, each with a short line that tells you what to do. The tenth is hidden: in the game it shows as "???" with the line "A secret. Keep playing to find it." Five of the visible nine are worth 10 Game Center points each. Master Smith and Full House are worth 20, The Great Blizzard 30 and Forged in Frost 50. Only Forged in Frost depends on the difficulty mode. Each achievement is earned once, at the moment it happens in play. You can follow your progress in Settings, Game, Achievements, where a counter such as 3 / 10 shows how many you have.
Every EmberFrost achievement, in the order you will likely earn them
The order below is the one most villages follow, though Weathered and Many Hands often arrive close together. Lines in quotes are the game's own.
| # | Achievement | In-game line | How to earn it | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | First Flame | "Light the fire with the Last Ember." | Light the cold fire pit in the prologue | 10 |
| 2 | Weathered | "Survive your first snowstorm." | Get through the first small snowstorm, on day 3 | 10 |
| 3 | Many Hands | "Hire your first worker." | Build the woodcutter's hut, the first place with a worker | 10 |
| 4 | The Torn Map | "Grow the village until a traveller brings a map." | Reach 12 villagers, and Lily brings the map | 10 |
| 5 | Iron and Anvil | "Build the forge and meet the smith." | Build the forge, offered once the stone quarry stands | 10 |
| 6 | Master Smith | "Forge every tool, crate and sled upgrade." | Forge all three tool levels and all five forge upgrades | 20 |
| 7 | Full House | "Build all five cabins and fill them." | Five cabins and 22 villagers, or 23 with the forge | 20 |
| 8 | The Great Blizzard | "Survive the Great Blizzard." | Survive the blizzard the lookout tower brings, on either mode | 30 |
| 9 | Forged in Frost | "Finish the story on Hard." | Be on Hard when the story ends | 50 |
| 10 | ??? | "A secret. Keep playing to find it." | Keep playing | Secret |
Which achievements can you earn in the free part?
Two: First Flame and Weathered. The free part of EmberFrost covers the prologue and the first three places you build, and our guide to what is free in EmberFrost explains where it ends. First Flame comes in the prologue, the moment the Last Ember lights the fire pit.
Weathered is free too, even if you stop at your third place. Snowstorms keep coming after the free part, and the first small one blows in on day 3, with Granny Maud warning you shortly before. A small storm cannot be lost, so Weathered is yours the moment it blows over.

The other seven visible achievements need places beyond the first three, so they come with the Full Story:
- Many Hands needs the woodcutter's hut, the 9th place in the build order.
- The Torn Map needs 12 villagers. The village holds 2 people plus 4 for each cabin, so that takes three cabins, and only one fits in the free part.
- Iron and Anvil and Master Smith need the stone quarry first, the 10th place.
- Full House needs all five cabins.
- The Great Blizzard and Forged in Frost come at the end of the story.
How do you get Master Smith and Full House?
Both 20-point achievements come late, because each one waits on one of the last places in the build order.
Master Smith
Master Smith asks you to "Forge every tool, crate and sled upgrade." Once the forge stands, Bram the smith turns the stone you drop at its mark into upgrades, one at a time and always in this order. Each job takes 20 seconds and never stops play. The eight jobs take 170 stone in all:
- Tools, level 1: 10 stone
- Tools, level 2: 20 stone
- Tools, level 3: 30 stone
- Wood crate: 15 stone
- Fish crate: 15 stone
- Stone crate: 20 stone
- Sled I: 25 stone
- Sled II: 35 stone
The catch: an upgrade only appears once its building exists. The fish crate upgrade needs the fish crate at the stall, the stone crate needs the quarry, and both sled upgrades need the sled, the 23rd place at 1,350 coins. Bram skips what is not ready and comes back to it, so Master Smith usually lands soon after you build the sled and bring the last 60 stone. Our EmberFrost build order guide shows where the sled and the forge fit.

Full House
Full House asks you to "Build all five cabins and fill them." Five cabins make room for 22 people, and the forge adds room for Bram, for 23. Granny Maud, Lily, Bram and your workers all count, and Cabin 5, the 24th place, is the real gate.
New villagers walk in every 20 seconds, or every 15 when morale is 70 or more. Below 30 morale nobody new arrives, and without an infirmary sick villagers can leave. So keep the stall served, build the infirmary and keep morale high. Our EmberFrost morale guide covers what moves it.
How do you earn Forged in Frost?
Forged in Frost, worth 50 points, asks you to "Finish the story on Hard." It is the only achievement that cares about the difficulty mode, and what counts is the mode you are on when the story ends, not how you played before. You can switch modes in the settings at any time without losing your village, so a Normal run can still earn it: switch to Hard before you build the lookout tower and stay there until the story is over. Our guide to Normal vs Hard lists everything that changes.
Why the lookout tower? Building it starts the Great Blizzard, and it is offered only once every other place stands. While the blizzard blows, your workers shelter at the fire and only you can feed it. The fire must not stay out for more than 10 seconds, and at least 20 villagers must be there at the end. On Hard it blows for three minutes instead of two, and the fire burns 40% faster. If it goes wrong, it comes back a day later and nothing is lost. Survive it and you also earn The Great Blizzard, worth 30 points on either mode, so a first finish on Hard brings both.

What about the secret achievement?
EmberFrost has exactly one hidden achievement, and this guide keeps it hidden. On the Achievements page it shows as "???" with the line "A secret. Keep playing to find it." Its real name and line stay out of sight until you earn it, and like the others, it can only be earned once.
How do EmberFrost achievements sync with Game Center?
Game Center is "Apple's social gaming network," as Apple's Game Center page for developers puts it, and EmberFrost uses it for achievements on iPhone. The game signs you in by itself once the main menu is up, with no button of its own. If iOS needs you to sign in, it shows its own sheet.
- Earned once, at the moment. Loading a save or replaying a moment earns nothing new.
- Kept on your iPhone. Earned achievements are stored on the device, outside your save slots, so a new game or another slot keeps them.
- Offline is fine. Achievements earned offline or while signed out wait on the phone and go to Game Center after your next sign-in, as our guide to offline games for iPhone explains.
- Reinstalls sync both ways. At each sign-in, the game takes in what Game Center has and the phone lacks, and reports what the phone has and Game Center lacks.
- The page in the game. Settings, Game, Achievements shows each achievement in colour once earned and grey until then. Signed in, a Game Center button opens Apple's own achievements page. Signed out, it says "Sign in to Game Center to sync".
Moving to a new iPhone? Apple's support page on gameplay progress across your devices says to sign in to Game Center with the same Apple Account you use with iCloud, and to check Settings, Game Center for the email address you use. In the Apple Games app you can also choose who sees your game activity, including achievement progress, as Apple's guide to the Games app explains.
There is also one leaderboard, only in Game Center: the fastest finish, measured in play time, on either mode. The game never shows a board or a rank, but the village progress screen shows your play time. On the Android beta, the page works on the device, without Google Play Games sync.
